Dr. Milorad Mitkovic is Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon, Professor of the Surgery on the Medical faculty University of Nis, Director of the University Orthopaedic and Traumatology clinic, founder and head of Orthopaedic and Traumatology clinic in Kuwait, member of the National Academy of Medical Science, President of Serbian Trauma Association and visiting Professor in Switzerland. He was born in 1950. His education he completed in Nis, Belgrade, London, Oxford, Cambridge, Ulm, Bruxelles, Davos, Moscow, Hannover, Tubingen etc. He is very active surgeon (Joint Replacement, Arthroscopy, Correction of Deformities, Limb Lengthening etc.) and he is also worldwide-recognized inventor (44 inventions). He was or is leader of 12 scientific projects. Using of his inventions it has been treated more then 25 thousand patients. In science he is leading dynamic research and projects. In education he is founder of original school and courses. He published more then 390 scientific papers and books. For his achievements he has been awarded many times by International and National prizes as: Gold Medal EUREKA-Brussels, Gold Medal Tesla, Gold Medal Pupin, Big Gold Medal of Institute for Traumatology Riga, Gold plaque Clinical center Nis, Gold Medal and plaque "Man of the year in Medicine and Health care 2010" - American Biographical Institute (ABI) and his biography according to invitation is published in "Great Minds of 21st Century" edited by ABI and in "2000 Outstanding Intellectuals in 21st Century" edited by International Biographical Center Cambridge. He is founder and president of Serbian Trauma association - STA (www.sta2011.org) and member of the Board of European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (www.estesonline.org/?s=board). Also he is founder and president of association for Research in External and Internal fixation known as "Mitkovic school" (www.mitkovic.org) which organizes courses on regular bases. He is active member of big International societies as SICOT, AAOS, EFORT, ASAMI, ESTES, AO and he is one of founders of World External Fixation society. His wife Gordana is a specialist of general medicine, daughter Marija is medical doctor (Psychiatry) and a postgraduate student (PhD), and son Milan medical doctor on training in Orthopaedic and Traumatology and postgraduate student (PhD).  |
